Solving Fatigue and Adrenal Fatigue
Fatigue is one of the most common health problems I see in my practice. Patients either wake up tired or start yawning early to mid afternoon and struggle to stay awake. Or there is some people who are out right exhausted all of the time and are hanging on by a thread. And some people feel they need many cups of coffee just to get through the day. Does this describe you? Could it be you are overloading your body and mind with too many demands or “stress” and you are exhausting yourself?
Stress comes in many forms other than being mentally or emotionally stressed. Do you sit at a desk for five to eight hours a day? Do you eat a lot of refined flours and sugars (breads and cereals)? Are you overweight? Do you not exercise regularly or could you be exercising too much? Do you sleep less than 7 or 8 hours per night? Do you expose yourself to a lot of artificial light from your phone, computer and TV screens? Are you not getting outside everyday and exposing yourself to natural light? Do you have blood sugar problems (Diabetes or hypoglycemia)? Do you have pain, gut problems, cardiovascular problems, or skin conditions? All of these are examples of stress or demands your body has to be able handle.
Your body is designed to handle or adapt to stress for short periods of time. However, when the stress on your body and mind exceed what you are capable of handling, you will breakdown physically and mentally. Chronic fatigue and sickness are inevitable.
Breaking down physically and mentally always involves the failure of your stress hormone response system to work properly. Sometimes this is called Adrenal Fatigue but it is more accurately called HPA Axis Dysregulation (Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis Dysregulation or HPA-D for short). HPA-D involves the inability of your brain and nervous system to control and balance your levels of stress hormones like cortisol. It also causes changes in other hormones and chemicals in your brain such as DHEA, melatonin, and epinephrine. HPA-D affects nearly every cell and tissue in the body. For this reason, it must be addressed in virtually all cases of chronic illness in order for healing to occur.
The good news is there are safe and natural solutions for you to solve your fatigue and get your energy, strength, and focus back.
